New Legal Histories of the American Revolution

October 19-21, 2023

In 2026, the United States will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. New Legal Histories of the American Revolution will bring together leading historians and law professors for a timely reconsideration of the legal history of the American Revolution, which was already underway in July 1776, when the Declaration memorialized the grievances of the thirteen colonies and made the case for separation from Britain and its empire.
