The McNeil Center: Philadelphia and Beyond

""

Did you know that the McNeil Center is a consortium of over 35 local, regional, and national members? The research universities and public history institutions that are part of the MCEAS Consortium are vital to the McNeil Center’s goals and mission. It is thanks to the work and support of these valued partners that the Center is able to offer the programming that supports scholars and scholarly inquiry.

Each year, the MCEAS Consortium generously funds two dissertation fellowships. These consortium fellowships are reserved for graduate students from member institutions. Beyond the two fellowships, the Consortium also funds an annual workshop for undergraduates, a summer internship program, and a summer faculty fellowship, among other opportunities.

“We are proud of the work that the Consortium does toward developing undergraduates, graduate students, Ph.D. candidates, and early career scholars,” says Emma Hart, Richard S. Dunn Director of the McNeil Center. “It’s truly the heart of our mission. With over 35 participating Consortium members—and growing still—I believe we are stronger than the sum of our parts.”

The McNeil Center is especially grateful to the Consortium representatives who act in an advisory capacity to the McNeil Center’s senior staff. Our Advisory Board members help steer the McNeil Center in continually improving the ways in which we serve our constituents and promote scholarly inquiry.

The McNeil Center wishes to thank the following consortium members for their steadfast contributions to our shared work.

The McNeil Center looks forward to the coming academic year working with the MCEAS Consortium and all the members of the McNeil Center community.

We are also delighted to share that the Consortium is growing. With upgrades to hybrid capabilities, we are able to extend our Consortium’s benefits beyond the mid-Atlantic region, welcoming national and international members.

If you are part of a university or organization that may be interested in being part of the Consortium, please read more about Consortium Membership Benefits, and feel free to reach out to us at mceas@sas.upenn.edu.
